Church of St Joseph the Worker
Church History
It was found that there was a dire need of a Church in the locality between Nungambakkam and Kodambakkam parishes, around Loyola College
The Jesuit Fathers of Loyola generously donated a piece of land to erect a Parish Church in that area.
This is the origin of St. Joseph’s Church erected on 2nd September 1985. A presbytery was also built there.
The first Parish Priest was Fr Samuel Savio.
