ST. THERESA'S CHURCH

St. Theresa's Church, Kosikalan, had its origin in October 1987 when Fr. Varghese Kunnath, the then Priest in-charge of Nishkalanka Mata Church, Jaith, went to meet the Christian Community at Kosi at the request of Brother Philip Neri, CMSF. Having offered Sunday Masses for six months in a rented room, this new mission was approved by the then Archbishop, the Most Rev. Cecil DeSa during his pastoral visit to Kosikalan. Four and a half acres of land was bought in Barhana Village where the present Church, the School, the presbytery and the Convent are built. St. Theresa's School began in rented rooms on July 10, 1990 in the city. In October 1991, the school was shifted to the new building at Nandgaon Road. The Daughters of the Sacred Heart (DSH) arrived in the Mission in July 1991. The dedication of the Church, the Presbytery and the Convent took place on April 14, 1993. The silver jubilee memorial block was inaugurated and blessed on July 8, 2017. Fr. Varghese Kunnath was the founder of the mission. The following are the parish priests who worked in this mission.
