A Brief History:
As the labour colonies grew in this area, many of our Catholics living in the precincts of St. Patrick’s Cantt.took up quarters here. After 1965 it became a substation of St. Patrick’s. Sunday service was held in houses and in the local schools. In 1980 Rev. Fr. Benedict Pereira went looking for land to put up a residence for the Priest, a School and finally a Church. In 1986 it was completed and Rev.Fr. B. Pereira was appointed the first resident Parish Priest of this place with a small Parish and a beautiful Church. The parish also caters to the educational needs of the people of the vicinity. The Canossian Sisters (FDCC) were invited to work in the School and to help in the pastoral and Mission Activities.
