Bonaventure Davis ofm as first parish priest. During his time, the present presbytery was built and a part of it was used for divine worship. The present church was built by Fr. Owen McLaughlin, ofm and was blessed by Bishop Ambrose P. Yeddanapalli, ofm on 1January 1973. Fr. Owen McLaughlin, ofm met with a road accident and died on 22April 1974. He was buried in the parish church. The Navachetana School was started during the term ofFr. Antony Fernandes, which now has reached up to high school. Frs. Ganapragasam T. and Charles Sundar Raj toiled to shape the school and boarding which supported the local and rural children. Fr. Charles Sundar Raj introduced the sponsorship programme for the poor children. The boarding house and teachers' quarters were buit during the term ofFrs. Charles Sundar Raj and Vijay Kumar. During the term of Fr. Vijay Kumar, the higher primary was upgraded to high school, and Pamanakalluru and Kalamgera village chapels renovation was done. Fr. Deva Nesanwas responsible for the extension of the present high school building with facilities for science lab and library, and for obtaining grant- in-aid to Navachetana Kannada Higher Primary School. Fr Joseph A. succeeded him. The decent compound wall to protect the church campus financed by Manos Unidas was built during his period. Since 2014, upgradation of the infrastructure of the entire campus and the renovation of the church and some sub-station chapels have been taken up by Fr. Ivan Pinto. Part of the Kowtal parish was separated to form the Chikka Hesarur parishin May 2015.
