A brief history of the parish :
The Yelburga Mission was started in 2010. This Mission was carved from Kustagi parish. In 2009-10 the Diocese bought about 7 acres of land in the town limits of Yelburga. The pioneer of this Misson is Fr. Dannappa Mulimani. In the beginning,he was taking care of this Mission from Kustagi and later on, he started to reside at Yelburga in a rented house. Bishop Henry D'Souza laid the foundation for the presbytory, Maria Nivas and St. Mary's School building on the Solemnity of our Lady of Assumption, 15 Aug, 2015. It was blessed and inaugurated on 7 November 2016. Presently, Fr. Stanislaus Job is continuing the mission in the economically backward place, promoting evangelization and preparing to start a school.
