Walter Rodrigues (till 2015) HISTORY: A plot of land measuring 3½ acres was obtained from St Anthony’s Charitable Institutions on a long lease for the Dominican Order by Fr Denis Lewis who started the construction work of the church. During the time of construction activities Fr Denis Lewis resided and celebrated the daily Mass in the house of Mr John Pinto. St Dominic’s Parish was established on May 1, 1971 and the new church building was inaugurated on May 14, 1971. Fr Denis Lewis became the first parish priest of this church. This parish does not have a belfry but has a bell recorder, which functions on electricity. Since this parish does not have a cemetery, the deceased are buried in the cemetery of Urwa parish. The Silver Jubilee Hall was constructed to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the church in 1996.
