Risen Christ Church

The parish was erected on 6th June 1976 and the first Parish Priest was Mgr Lazar SDB. Our Lady of Good Health at Lakshmipuram, Sacred Heart Church at Srinivasa Nagar and Christ the King Church at GKM Colony were substations. Rev Fr N A Joseph SDB played a crucial role in the development of this parish. Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Peravallur is managed by the Parish. In 1990 this Parish came under the charge of the Archdiocese of Madras - Mylapore. The first Diocesan Priest was Rev Fr Pascal Petrus. In 2010, an 83 feet belfry and a beautiful new Grotto to Our Mary of Lourdes were erected. A big school extension building comprising laboratories and mini auditorium and a basketball ground was built by Rev Fr P S Kanickairaj. In 2011, a bronze flag post and a beautiful Eucharistic Chapel were added for peoples' devotion. A new Silver Jubilee Kalyana Mandapam was constructed and blessed on 20th January 2013, Rev Fr ML Peter Jerald is the Parish Priest.
