St. Joseph the Worker Church

Gudlavalleru was bifurcated from Gudivada and canonically erected on 25th, 1976. This village was baptized by Fr. A Bianchi on 20th May 1928. The Parish Church was built by Fr. George Puthenpura and was blessed by Bishop Joseph Thumma on 14th December 1979. A new presbytery was constructed in 1986 by Fr. Thumma Albin. In the year 2004 the parish was entrusted to the pastoral care of Jesuits and Fr. A. Esthaky Selvaraj was appointed as the first Jesuit parish priest. Fr.Nagothu Showri Kishore Kumar SJ. Has taken charge as the parish priest on the 27th of May 2018. He started building grottos and renovating the churches in the parish. He renovated the church at Balayesunagar in December 2018. He built a Kanukamata grotto at Chandrala village in February 2019. He built and arch of St. Joseph, the worker and installed the statues of St. Joseph, St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Francis Xavier. They were inaugurated on May 1st 2019, the parish feast day. He built Fathimamata grotto at Serikalvapudi, inaugurated in August 2019. He built Sahayamata grotto at Kotta Kurada which was inaugurated in October 2019. He built Sagaramata grotto and Loyola community hall at Angaloor. He installed the statue of St.Ignatius of Loyola and renovated the church. All of these were inaugurated in January 2020. He built a Fathimamata grotto at Kautaram and renovated the church which was inaugurated in February 2020.
