Our Lady of Assumption Church
Church History
The Christian settlement from the 18 century, Maiyanur was under Konankuppam Parish till 1887.
It was under Kovilanur Parish from 1843 and under Viriyur Parish from 1868.
A new Church was built there in 1936-1937.
1964 Maiyanur was bifurcated from Viriyur Parish and elevated as Parish on 05.09.1968
The Parish Church was renovated on the occasion of its Diamond Jubilee and blessed by Most Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar, on 11.08.2013.
