Church History
Considering the needs of the population of Melameignanapuram and the advice of the then Parish Priest of St. Michael's Church, Tenkasi and Members of the Priests’ Council, the Parish of St. Michael's Church, Tenkasi bifurcated and the new Parish, the Church of St. James, Melameignanapuram formed.
St. James Parish, Melameignanapuram was constituted into a new Parish with effect from 2nd June 2012.
Rev. Fr. L. Alocius Durairaj is appointed as its first Parish Priest.
