Nettur was a substation of Uthumalai. It was a very backward area. Christian in Nettur belongs to the Dalit community. They are economically poor. Socially suppressed politically weak. But very strong in faith. In spites of hardship, they have given up their faith. Day by day they grow in spiritual life. As people grow in big number, for the spiritual well being of catholic it was erected on separate parish and was entrusted very eagerly took charge of the taluk. The Salesian presence in Nettur began on 8th June 2002. There are various pious associations such as Self-help groups for women, Puthu Vazhu Group, Don Bosco Youth Groups, Soldiers of Christ, Holy Childhood, Samugha Sevai Sangam and Altar Boys and Girls Association. The Anbiyams and the Parish Pastoral Council are also functioning. There are two R.C. Primary Schools under the Parish Jurisdiction, one at Seethaikurichi and the other at Nettur. Felix SDB Substations with Churches Kavalakuruchi Reddiyapatty Ukkirankottai Kaduvetty Valveechurastha Seethaikurichi Therkkupatty Kalakkudi Arunachalaperi Kidarakulam Substations with Church Kadaganery ======================== வரலாறு : தென்காசி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள இயற்கை எழில் சூழ்ந்த அழகிய சிறு கிராமம் தான் நெட்டூர். அக்காலத்தில் நெட்டூர் கிராம மக்கள் ஏழ்மையிலும் பொருளாதாரத்தில் மிகவும் பின்தங்கிய நிலையிலும் வாழ்ந்து வந்தனர். இந்த காலகட்டத்தில் 1904 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஆலயம் கட்டப்பட்டது. 1931 ஆம் ஆண்டு சிங்கம்பாறை தனிப்பங்காக ஆன போது அதன் கிளைப் பங்காக நெட்டூர் செயல்பட்டு வந்தது. 1945 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஊத்துமலை தனிப்பங்கான போது நெட்டூர் அதன் கிளைப் பங்காக ஆனது. தொடர்ந்து ஊத்துமலையில் பணியாற்றிய அருட்பணியாளர்கள் மற்றும் அருட்சகோதரிகளின் வழிகாட்டுதலில் நெட்டூர் கத்தோலிக்க இறைமக்கள் கல்வி மற்றும் சமூக பொருளாதார நிலையில் மெல்ல மெல்ல வளரத் தொடங்கினர். ஆலயம் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டு, 18.05.1991 அன்று பாளை மறைமாவட்ட ஆயர் மேதகு S. இருதயராஜ், D.D,D.C.L அவர்களால் அர்ச்சித்து திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது. ஊத்துமலை பங்கிலிருந்து பிரிக்கப்பட்டு 08.06.2002 அன்று நெட்டூர் தனிப்பங்காக உயர்த்தப்பட்டு, சலேசிய சபை குருக்களிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப் பட்டது. முதல் பங்குத்தந்தையாக அருட்பணி. அந்தோணிசாமி ஜோக்கிம், SDB அவர்கள் பணிப் பொறுப்பேற்றார். தொடர்ந்து சலேசிய சபை குருக்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலில் வளர்ச்சியை நோக்கி பயணித்து வருகிறது நெட்டூர் இறைசமூகம்.
