Mary Mother of God Church

Established : 2007 Patron : Mary, Mother of God Address : Ishmata Ashram, Ajhuwa, Kaushambi District Religious : Friends of Birds of the Air A Brief History A plot of land was bought near the railway station in Ajhuwa which is in Kaushambi District. There was a building already existing where a priest was stationed to look after the mission. The villagers were good and lots of evangelization work was being done. Fr. Joseph Sahayanathan took up the challenge to take up the mission and built a grotto of our lady. The whole mission was closed after some time. The bishop, Most Rev. RaphyManjaly, then decided to give the portion of the land to the Friends of the Birds of Air for humanitarian works. Hence, the Mission was renamed as Ishmata Ashram, and was blessed by Bishop RaphyManjaly on 8 December, 2017.
