The entire Devadurga taluka was entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco by Bishop Joseph D'Silva. The two pioneers, Frs. Varghese C. P. SDB, and Emmanuel Ramapuram SDB, started their work in the new mission on 24 May 1996 and the new parish was inaugurated on 22 June 1996. The priests stayed in a rented house for the first two years. They started a school and a boarding for rural children. A new chapel at Malladevara Gudda was blessed on 31 Jan. 2013 by Bishop Henry D'Souza,when Fr. Saji George SDB was Parish Priest. A large new church was built under the leadership of Fr. K.C. Mathew SDB as Superior and Fr.James Paul SDB as Parish Priest. It was opened by Fr. Thomas Koonan, SDB, Vice Provincial and dedicated by Bishop Henry D'Souza on 24 Jan.2017.
