St. James Church

Duraisamipuram was one of the substations of the parish of Velayuthapuram. It is a very backward area. People one poor and daily wages. But their faith is remarkable. In order to uplift and develop this backward area, it was felt that Duraisamipuram should be created a new parish. It was bifurcated and entrusted to the order of discalced Carmelite of Tamilnadu province in the year 1995. They started their full pledged mission work among the people.
