HISTORY:
Gantalkatte parish was created by Bishop Basil D’Souza on July 2, 1988 by carving out a part of Taccode parish. Messrs John Menezes, Bonifas S. Menezes, Peter Menezes, Leo Menezes and Mrs Dorothy Pinto donated 2.54 acres of land to build the church. Fr Francis X. Gomes was the first parish priest. Fr Stany B. Lobo of Tacode parish built the church which was inaugurated on May 2, 1983. He also built the presbytery and Fr Anthony Lewis the belfry. An additional 6.94 acres of land has been donated to the church by Mr Robert Menezes.
