Church History

Hagari Bommanahalli Mission was started in 1995. Fr. Anthony Puthenkulam was the first priest to stay there in a rented house. Fr. Jai Prakash Francis took charge of this new mission in the month of May 1997 and Krista Sharana Schoolwas startedto cater to the educational needs of the poor children. The newly built church, presbytery and school were blessed by Bishop Joseph D' Silvaon 9 March 2000. The main school block was built during the term of Fr. Ivan Pinto, financed by Manos Unidas. It wasinaugurated by the Bishop Joseph D'Silva.Fr. Danappa M. renovated the church with the help of the school staff members, ASMI Sisters and benefactors. It was blessedby Bishop Henry D'Souza on 30 April2011. The extension of the school building was started by Fr. Danappa M. and was continued by Fr. Jose Prakash and Fr. Philip C. till 2015. Fr. Vijay Kumar P.built the High School block, which was blessed by Bishop Henry D'Souza on 17 Aug. 2017. Krista Sharana Vidyapeeta run by the Diocese and the Assisi Hopspital by the ASMI Sisters, serve the people in the predominantly Lingayat town. Sub-station : Nandhipura.
