St. Mathew's Mission

Kadambathur is a remote mission started by Rev Fr Vallavanthara with four converted families. Earlier Fr. Debora, an Italian Priest worked in these sub-stations and built chapels. It was established on 17th May 1970 by the then Archbishop of Madras Mylapore Most Rev Dr R Arulappa. Initially, there was a small chapel built and dedicated to St Matthew. From 1985 onwards nine sub-stations were attached to this mission. There is tremendous growth in the mission here. The present Church was built by Fr P A Jacob, in 2004 The Archbishop Most Rev. A. M. Chinnappa SDB considered the need of the parish and bifurcated four of the substation of the parish as Thozhudavur in the year 2007. Now this mission which started with four families has grown into 210 families with four sub-stations.
