Catholics were ministered from Hospet and Gangavathi. In the year 1992, considering a great pastoral need it was made into a parish with Fr. Francis B. as its first parish priest. The parish has a church and a presbytery built when by Fr. Francis B. was the parish priest. With the initiative of Fr. Anathiah R. C., Sahaya Matha community hall was built. Queen Mary nursery and primary schools were started by Fr. Jai Prakash Francis.The Marian grotto was built by Fr. Rajappan. The new school buildingbuilt with the finance of Manos Unidas during the term of Fr. Rajappan was blessed by Bishop Henry D' Souza on 6 June 2012.
