Some substations from the neighbouring parishes of Mudgal, Maski and Hire Naganoor were added to this new mission. The first resident parish priest was Fr. Leo Michael Y.S. (1994-1999). He built the present Presbytery which was blessed by Bishop Joseph D'Silva on 1December 1996. Later, the church was built and blessed on 13 May 1999. Fr. Rajappan L. (1999-2004) succeeded in 1999. A grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes was built during his tenure. In 2004, Fr. Charles D'Souza (2004-2009) was appointed. In 2001, the Sisters of Apostolic Carmel came and started the Little Flower School. Fr.Walter Menezes served the parish 2009-2014. There were catholics in Lingasugur town as early as 1900's in the British India. Most popular among them was Captain Leonard Munn, who was a Military Geological Survey and Special officer, well-sinking department in H.E.H the Nizam' s Government . He and his staff sank more than 1200 wells (1916-35) in the famine zone area of Raichur district. His name is a household word in this area. He died at Lingsugur on 21st October, 1935 and buried at an old Europeans cemetery with many historical tombs in it. Fr.Antony Fernandes & Fr.Rajappan L. worked hard to retrieve the cemetery land from intruders. BDDS has put up a multipurpose Hall named after " Captain Leonard Munn Hall" and it was inaugurated by Bishop Henry D'Souza on Aug.1, 2012.
