Rev. Bro. John Mary cmsf and Rev. Bro. Fedeliscmsf were the first Missionaries to arrive in the village Chitauna. They stayed in the rented mud house. After few days, they purchased 40 acres of land for cultivation. They started informal education and social work. They began the formal education ministry in 1959 which got the recognition in 1966. As the house was found inadequate a new building was built in 1972 and later again further renovation was done in 1995. The Daughters of St. Joseph Sisters (DSJ) were invited to assist in the mission work in 1994. Till June 1995 the Pastors from Akbarpur were attending to the spiritual needs of the faithful, later it was looked after by the priest in charge of Jaffarganj. Since 2000, there had been a residential priest.From July 2014, the residential priest was withdrawn and Rev. Fr. Thomas Serrao from Jaffarganj was asked by the then Bishop RaphyManjaly to cater to the spiritual needs of the religious there. Again in 2016 July a residential priest has been appointed.
