Our Lady Of Rosary Church

The Muthialpet community was under the Cathedral from the beginning. There was a chapel at the beginning of the 19 century and was looked after by the Cathedral and Petit Seminaire school priests. It became a parish in 1865 and the present church was built in 1873-86. In 2003 the Church was renovated by Rev. Fr. Antony Roche and blessed by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. S. Michael Augustine. A church of St. Antony, which was more than 150 years old, was pulled down and a new church of St. Antony was built with the local contribution in the same place at Solaithandavan Kuppam Street by Fr. C. Sagayaraj. It was opened and blessed by Most Rev. Antony Anandarayar, the Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore on Wednesday, the 2 of June 2010.
