Church History
Portions of Basanti, Kalyanpur and Raghabpur Parishes were detached and the parish of Baruipur was erected canonically by Bishop Linus N. Gomes, SJ on 01-01-1987. The Parish then consisted of Baruipur Town, Bibirchawk, Canning, Champahati, Kalipur, Kochpukur and Salepur. In 2004 Canning was made a Parish and in 2009 Baruipur Cathedral parish was erected.
