St. Michael’s Church
Church History
Sernthapoomangalam was earlier functioning as a parish. Later it was attached to Punnaikayal from which it was bifurcated again on 13th October 2003 by Bishop Peter Fernando and was made into a separate parish. The existing Church had been built by Rev. Fr. Villavarayar and it had been blessed by Bishop Tiburtius Roche in February 1939. The new presbytery was built by Rev. Fr. M.G. Pragasam, the first parish priest, and it was blessed by Bishop Peter Fernando on 23rd February 2004.
